The FRP statue and the oil painting on canvas are works both in the category of“seedlings”. Even though the works take on different artist forms, they both reflect how the artist sees and understands the world in congruity of intentions. The works apply corn, the crop with the highest yield on a global scale, as a symbol.Corn harvest requires plentiful raindrops, abundant sunshine, fertile soil and farm work with full attention. Without each of these elements, nothing will ever happen.As can be seen from the artwork, each round, shiny corn kernel looks as if it wants to break its boundaries of time and space, and dance with layers of mist that surround it.It is in search of its origin in all its effort. Water benefits all things without contention and seeds need water, the source of life, in order to survive.The functionality of the two contribute to the resilience and strength of life. It is because of the non-aggressiveness, selflessness of water that enables the evolutionary life-changing process, say, from a corn seed to a kernel.This is what the artist is trying to tell us: all life shares origins and roots in common and no exception exists.
