Hadas Zucker // Blasé

Blasé, 2015
Installation
Inspired by the work of Georg Simmel’s essay, “The Metropolis and Mental Life”, and French author Michel Houellebecq’s novel, “Extension du Domaine de la Lutte”, Zucker created Blasé project- a social anthropological diary that explores the crisis of modern urban life. This art project explores the question of identity and self representation in contemporary society. It captures a moment of intimacy, where oneself shows vulnerability, their true self, as opposed to their “social media branded self”. The portraits show the common values and ideals of a new global urban nomad social group. Though their diversity, they influence and adrenalize the emerging global city of the future, Shanghai.
Hadas Zucker is an artist and creative director, Israeli born, who currently lives in Shanghai.
